My shed slab has reo and is ready to pour!
The pour is tentatively scheduled for Monday, pending fair weather and approval from the building surveyor.

I was in need of a new keyring - so decided to show my loyalty to house Stark. Although there are plenty of options available on ebay etc, I decided to try bl_nk Designs on Facebook - as it happens to be run by Ek (Jason's little sister) and her husband. Figured I might as well throw my business their way.
They have a laser-etcher and seem to be able to make anything you ask for. She had no idea what a dire-wolf is or who house Stark are - but I sent her a photo of the Stark banner and a few days later this arrived.
I'm really quite chuffed with the result. Thanks Ek!

Yep - I think those holes are deep enough now...
Hopefully the shed slab will get properly started this week!

I may be just another Vandemonian Lag, but I thoroughly enjoyed the concert on Tuesday.
Vandemonian Lags was the term given to Tasmanians back in the convict era - especially when they started heading to Victoria for the gold rush (starting a policy of "stop the boats" to keep the Tasmanians out). Vandemonian of course refers to Van Diemen's Land - the original name for Tasmania.
Anyway - there’s a project called Founders & Survivors which has been researching the convict records and creating a multimedia website to tell some of the stories. This project then contacted some musicians to turn some of the stories into songs. This was called Founders & Survivors: Storylines.
This in turn evolved into a concert/performance and CD release - now called Vandemonian lags. This was largely spearheaded by Mick Thomas (lead singer of Weddings Parties Anything - one of my favourite bands) who was backed up by the rest of WPA and a heap of other awesome artists.
So it’s Tasmanian convict and related stories - performed by some of my favourite artists - and some awesome songs to boot. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
