Sadly it seems that little has happened on this project for a long time. On the 3rd of the 11th of 2007, Turkey showed me these photos - but still hasnt posted them yet.

So here they are.

 
They plan to build it out of this stuff?

 
I still have my doubts about the materials.

 
Apparently this represents payment details - or maybe calculations for the strength of the tree-bucket. Either way, it's a little worrying.

Something may be in the works

Rumour has it that there may be a day of action on the trebuchet on Thursday. We have a public holiday down here due to Hobart Show, so Darth has requested that I turn up at his place and we get into it. Hopefully I can make it...

Cure the Disease.

Plans were made, a week in advance, and yet still something ugly reared its head and got in the way. It was last Friday that Darth and I had planned to go and select wood for the trebuchet during our lucnch, but I decided it would be fun to try to kill myself instead.

Yeah, this time it was me. I pulled off a nasty cold and couldn't make the deadline. My weekend has been hopeless, but I don't imagine you particulary care. This is all about smashing macs, so I won't go too deep into it...

But yeah, so basically we are still trying to get stuff to happen, but things keep rearing their ugly head and blocking us from pulling it off. It won't happen this Friday either I imagine, as its the school fair the next day and Darth's parent's organise it, so we will most definitely be roped into giving them a hand set stuff up.

Oh well, stuff happens.

Well Then

Well, as you have probably guessed by the lack of any meaningful posts here, not much is happening. Due to random curcumstances, nothing has been done on the trebuchet.

So, what are the suspects for the lack of work?

Suspect 1. I think I'm going to blame bennylingbling (see pic below) for the first part. He is an avid mac user (although he doen't have one due to the huge costs of buying them!), and even works at the mac shop in Hobart. He decided to organise a LAN and as such conned me and the eventual owner of this trebuchet (Darth Strawberry) into helping him orgainise it. As such most of our free time is going into meetings and other such like things to get this mega LAN off the ground. Oh, and its a private event, sorry... :)

Suspect 2. Exams. Why is it after exams all you want to do is nothing? Well, thats how the lot of us feel, and then the teachers give us more work still. Meh! No break for us then, and as such no motivation either.

So, the plan is to build it still, and maybe we will get to work on it next week. We do both hope so, but we will also see. Planning is first task we are going to complete, and hopefully next time I will be able to tell you what we have decided.

This is the beginning

Yes, that's right record lovers, Headless was a moron and let me have permission to blog on his site...

Want to know why? Well, you see, I was conned into helping a friend build a trebuchet. "So," I hear you asking, "Why are you able to blog in the Smash the Mac section?" Well my good friends, because this is a big trebuchet, and will be perfect for lobbing MACS! (a personal favourite pasttime).

The idea is that I write the blog on the constuction of the trebuchet. To keep you informed, and to tell you progress on how the macs will be smashed. (It's a good theory!)

As Headless isn't in Hobart with me, he can't actually tell you about how the building project is going, so he has requested I blog it for him. So, this is now my arena, and I hope you enjoy what is to come.

At this point the trebuchet is only in the very (and I stress very) early design stage. Unfortunately it has been going exceptionally slow, due the midyear exams. Oh well , it happens.

Next post should be in about 2 weeks (the plan is to start working again on the 10/8/07) so sometime after that I'll tell you how its all going.
